With respect to the Constitution of the United States of America and the National Flag of the United States of America:

flag_

From Jason, co-founder of Save the 99ers:

Save the 99ers will shift its' focus to foster solutions other than the advocacy of government aide. In short, this issue is part of a bigger picture to undermine our civil liberties.

What is happening now is what Teddy Roosevelt feared 100 years ago:

"The absence of effective state, and, especially, national restraint upon unfair money-getting has tended to create a small class of enormously wealthy and economically powerful men, whose chief object is to hold and increase their power. The prime need is to change the conditions which enable these men to accumulate power which is not for the general welfare that they should hold or exercise.... Therefore, I believe in a ... graduated inheritance tax on big fortunes, properly safeguarded against evasion and increasing rapidly in amount with the size of the estate." - T.R. 1910

This is the process our nation is taking to move toward an oligarchy government.

We have added a new Poll "Has our nation been under attack from within?"

focus

If you still agree Government should extend unemployment benefits to the 99ers then you may still sign [here].

In any case please use our forums to discuss solutions and to remember to keep an open mind and a keen eye on the "big picture." We as a people must unite based on the common good of humanity especially now since so much dis-information is causing division. With all the mud of information out there in-mind, I believe that eventually truth always prevails if we don't destroy it first.

Warm Regards, Jason Page

Since congress thinks that we (99ers) are so lazy, I just applied for a job there... It doesn't matter what my experience is all that is important is I did indeed apply for a job with them, maybe that will prove how desperate I am. Everyone should do this. Hell one of us just might get lucky. It doesn't matter if we are inexperienced, they are too apparently, but if they are hit with 15 million resumes from unemployed people maybe just maybe they will see what the situation is really like.

They will not let us file the claim here anymore where I live. Infact we have been blocked from claiming and when we called they informed us there is no reason to file because there will be no new extension for those that have received 99 weeks.

Quoting Jim:
Even if your claim runs out keep on filling out their weekly claim form anyway, that way you will at least count in the numbers game. Thats what Iam doing even though I have come to resort on the help of other family members and friends to survive.

I live in an area that was #3 in the nation as one of the fastest growing communities in the nation, then became #3 in forclosures. I work in the construction trade and I have been diligently looking for work, to no avail. I can't relocate because I don't have the money to move, and I am barely able to pay my bills with my benefits, but at least I am surviving. Without this extension I will be forced to live on the streets. Is this what our country is doing to our people? What about the rich, why do they get tax breaks when I can't afford housing?

Looks like Congress is taking another "vacation" while the 99ers freeze in Michigan and Cleveland.

This morning another report came out that there were fewer new claims - yet another reason to END all benefits in November. I sincerely believe the REAL rate is over 50 million unemployed or underemployed.

Looks like Senator Stabinows bill may not even be introduced until
after the election - simply put, we are being ignored

Quoting Kathy Cummings:
Excellent shift, creating our own solutions is just what we need. We can't trust our representatives to fix things for us if they're getting money from special interest corporations working against us.
It's time to think Green, be Green, live Green, vote Green.

Any suggestions on how to help ourselves more than we are trying right now? I'm out of ideas. I suggested to my senator that they require us to do community service for our unemployment extension- that would give current experience, help our self esteem, and let us help them where they need it using each of our unique skill sets. I was told thank you for sharing my "difficult" story, and that the other bill was being looked at- the over 10% states, even though that wouldn't help us here in WA State...that was last week, now no mention of any bill is being discussed. It's all about getting the votes from the rich now...

Exactly, Gary. The more of us that drop off of unemployment without a job to go to, the numbers look better for the government. We disappear into a black hole and we don't exist. Except for when everyone of us ends up on the street with no shelter, no food, and no hope. It's coming....how can it not with so many people unable to find jobs. Then, once we are on the street, which is soon for me if something doesn't happen soon, how can we possible even look for jobs anymore? I have noticed lately that there are tax breaks for employers to hire recently released felons, but not long term unemployed. Only if you have been on welfare, which you can't get if you don't have small children, and are unemployed- they get a tax break for hiring them. So, with these questionniares I have been asked on all these jobs, preference is going to a recently released felon over long time hardworking people trying to get back to work. What is going on here???

OK, listen up everyone especially all 99ers.

The TEA PARTY people won yesterday and this bodes very poorly for ANY TIER5 extension as they want to not only CUT US OFF but ALL extensions, so there is a very good chance that November 30 will be it for ALL extensions, including those already drawing (you will get to finish out your claim and that will be it). President Obama and even the democrats want to see improved employment numbers and they will because 200,000 are falling into 99er status each Monday and our government then considers us "employed" and no longer a statistic - its a numbers game.

So "Save the 99ers" is now "don't save the 99ers"... wow! I would much rather have a job than a tier 5, but since no one will hire me no matter how much experience I have because I am almost 50 and an over 99er, nothing but a tier 5 will help unless something comes along. The alternative is for us all to just kill ourselves, because there are going to be a lot of us on the streets- no room in shelters-, and starving. I never in a million years imagined I would be in this situation and would be begging my government to help me- I have always been independent and self sufficient. But, what do you do when you have nothing left...now you are turning your backs on us. Another sad moment in another sad day...
